Having both been skaters in the 80s and 90s we both share a love for skating which has endured longer than our knees and the skate aesthetic has influenced us in our careers as designers.
We witnessed the struggle our good friends at The Rucksack Society had trying to keep their Skate / Streetwear store in Basingstoke open with crippling rent and rates, and saw that for local skaters there is no-where locally for them to easily pick up skateboard hardware.
We saw an opportunity to supply local skaters with decks and components through our website by post and a local drop-off service for Basingstoke. Where possible, shoppers on our website can arrange a local drop-off rather than waiting for them to be delivered by post.
More importantly though, opening a skate store allowed us to buy a butt-load of decks to hang on our walls which was all we really wanted anyway…
